That fancy watch that many people wear on their wrists is considered a gimmick by some people, others think they are useless.  Science and studies have shown otherwise.  They function as a trainer, a guide, and a motivational tool.  For many a heart rate monitor is the key to success with their fitness goals.

Many of these devices can be tied in with personal assistant apps to get you moving more.  These assistants will monitor your activity levels and develop custom plans for you to move.  As you continue, the plans will get you moving more and more.

The old trick of dangling the carrot in front of the donkey is just as effective with humans.  It is scientifically proven that a living being will be motivated when something they want is placed in front of them.  The whip of the device telling you it is time to move is also good starting encouragement.

  1. There are a lot of options out there.  Here are just some of the many options: Fitbit, Samsung, Garmin, Misfit, and Motiv.  Each one of these companies is constantly coming out with new models on top of that.
  2. Devices are coming out with a variety of on board features that allow the artificial intelligence, along with calculations to determine exactly what you can do to live a healthier and better life.
  3. To choose the right device you should look at all of the features it offers.  You want it to track your heart rate and fitness levels but you also want it to be durable.  Spend some time reading into the device and make sure that it is the right fit for you.

It is also a good idea to check the size of the device and make sure that it comes in a model that would fit you.  Extra small wrists and very large ones are the hardest to fit as devices are typically made for the average user.

User reviews will help you to get an idea of any fitness tracker out there.  You might end up finding your perfect partner.  The one that tells you it is time to get off your butt and get moving.
